Arbeitslehre/Technik und Partizipation

Dr. Massimo Moraglio

Kurzbiografie

I am a senior researcher at the Technische Universität Berlin, working on technology and its wide effects on economic, social and cultural fields.

In 1998 I was awarded an M.A. in Political Sciences at the Turin University, and in 2003 I was awarded a PhD. in Urban Planning History at the Polytechnic University of Turin. My previous investigation fields encompass history of medical science, history of public and private institutions, political history of Italian catholic hierarchy, with a main focus on both the 19th and 20th centuries, and resulted in outcomes such as published books, essays and articles.

In the past years, I have been focusing on the relation between technology and society, as well as sustainable mobility and environmental studies. Highlights of my career so far include an EU Marie Sklodowska Curie IEF fellowship conducted at the T.U. Berlin, and a fellowship at the Rachel Carson Centre in Munich (Jan-July 2014).

Currently I am editor-in-chief of The Journal of Transport History, and I am member of the Editorial Board of other three international journals. My 100+ publications encompass books in Italian and English, including editing and co-editing, and articles in international journals. I have co-organized and participated in 50+ national and international conferences. I have been appointed as a peer-referee for international academic journals, as well as an evaluator for American and European research institutes and centres.

I have conducted researched and taught in universities in Italy, France and Germany. In addition to running student workshops, summer programs and general duties as a professor’s assistant during my career, I have also supervised B.A and M.A. student theses, as tutor and co-tutor. In 2012 I received the qualification as professor in modern history, granted by the Italian Education Ministry.
